Ouistreham

 

Ouistreham has always been a port linking Normandy to a variety of countries and French provinces.

 By virtue of its location, Ouistreham has always had a maritime calling. Shellfish gathering and coastal fishing are popular local pastimes. The wharves where the trawlers Airstream rowing boats are moored are to the east and west of the outer harbour. The fish landed by the fishermen is on sale every day on the 24 stalls of the Halle aux Poissons (fish market).
